A Fixed Image
From the time of the Arab sage Alhazen to that of Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519), and from then onwards into the middle of the 19th century man has struggled to record a permanent visual image of time and place. Were these efforts symbolic of mankind's desire to remember and be remembered? Surely such a feeling lay concealed as its source and certain chemical and technical experiments fanned this hope to life...
